Short Bio

Kristin Lambert studied journalism and creative writing at the University of Alabama and eventually joined the family costume business, making Halloween both her favorite and least favorite time of year. She adores live music, red shoes, David Bowie vibes, and semi-excessive thrift store shopping, which her husband and two daughters tolerate, even when she brings home creepy old dolls. The Boy in the Red Dress is her debut novel, set in her favorite city, New Orleans.

Long Bio

Kristin Lambert grew up the perpetual new kid in a series of small Southern towns, where her first stop was always the local library to see if they had any Nancy Drew mysteries. She studied journalism and creative writing at the University of Alabama and still lives in the South, where mosquitoes attack her regularly, despite her strenuous efforts to avoid the outdoors. She shares a home with her husband, two daughters, two gigantic cats, a dog who follows her everywhere, and an absurd amount of creepy old dolls. She loves David Bowie, sassy villains, red shoes, and British TV. The Boy in the Red Dress is her debut novel.

Trade Reviews and Blurbs

"A twisty Jazz Age mystery with a diverse cast of characters, and an exciting NOLA setting that comes alive. Perfect for fans of Veronica Mars and The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue." -- Kerri Maniscalco, #1 New Year Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Stalking Jack the Ripper series

"This LGBTQ–themed historical mystery is far from a drag. ... A glittering tribute to the end of the Roaring ’20s, and mystery aficionados of any sexual orientation will think it’s the bee’s knees. A hotsy-totsy read!" -- Kirkus Reviews

"The book is replete with colorful swells, debs, and bootleggers, but Millie steals the spotlight as a resilient, independent young woman who is not afraid to scale a trellis or sneak into a Confederate cemetery seeking the truth." –Gillian D’Ambrosio, School Library Journal
